In 2020, the world of perfumery was captivated by a new masterpiece—Angels' Share by By Kilian, a fragrance that instantly became iconic in The Liquors Collection.

Released in 2020, this launch embodies the luxury and artistic rebellion characteristic of the brand founded by Kilian Hennessy, heir to a cognac dynasty.

Angels' Share is not just a perfume, but a sensual journey into the world of fine beverages and gourmet delights, created for those who appreciate depth and elegance.

Positioning and wearability of Angels' Share

As a unisex fragrance, Angels' Share offers a harmonious blend of warm and sweet notes, suitable for both women and men seeking something special for evening outings or cozy winter days.

Its medium trail leaves a subtle yet memorable trace without overwhelming the space, making it ideal for intimate gatherings and special events.

In the format of perfume water, the fragrance demonstrates excellent longevity, gradually unfolding on the skin over several hours.

For optimal effect, it is recommended to use 1 to 2 sprays on the skin and 1 to 2 sprays on clothing, allowing you to enjoy the multifaceted notes without excessive intensity.

Angels' Share particularly shines in cool weather, when its gourmand and woody accents create a cozy and seductive aura, perfect for romantic dates or formal evenings.

Creators and impact on the industry

The creation of Angels' Share was the work of two talented perfumers: Benoist Lapouza and Kilian Hennessy.

Their collaboration brought a unique balance between tradition and innovation to the fragrance, reflecting the DNA of By Kilian, known for its bold and luxurious compositions.

This release solidified the reputation of The Liquors Collection as a collection exploring alcoholic themes in perfumery and became a benchmark for gourmand fragrances, inspiring other brands to experiment with beverage and sweet notes.

Angels' Share not only enriched By Kilian's portfolio but also won the hearts of connoisseurs worldwide, becoming a symbol of refined taste and artistic approach.

Its success highlights how perfume can tell stories, connecting the past of a cognac dynasty with modern trends, and continues to influence the perception of gourmand families in the industry.

Each of these perfumes can be a worthy addition to your collection, expanding your palette of aromatic experiences.

Angels' Share is more than just a perfume; it is an embodiment of luxury, art, and emotion, created for those who are not afraid to stand out.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Angels' Share opens with a sparkling chord of cognac, which immediately creates an atmosphere of an exquisite cocktail, recalling the brand's rich heritage.

In the heart of the composition, warm and spicy notes unfold: cinnamon adds piquancy, tonka bean brings creamy sweetness, and oak provides a solid woody foundation, reminiscent of barrel aging.

This middle stage smoothly transitions into the base, where praline and vanilla create a delicate gourmand finale, complemented by soothing sandalwood, which anchors the fragrance, leaving behind a trail of coziness and temptation.

The entire composition harmoniously combines elements from the groups of drinks, gourmand, spicy, sweet, and woody notes, belonging to the families of gourmand and woody fragrances.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Winter's almost here, and I hope I can truly appreciate this scent. I feel like it will open up in a special way in colder weather. I can smell cognac, cinnamon, woody notes, and cherry in it. A true masterpiece

We've waited so long for Kilian to finally release a cognac-inspired fragrance. It's definitely an event, but honestly, I can't say I'm super thrilled about it. Alcohol in perfumery is an interesting topic, but I don't like all this brand's fragrances. Everyone's tastes are different, and maybe this just isn't for me. I hope it turns out sweet and gourmand, but I have doubts about how they'll pull it off. The bottle, by the way, looks pretty good, finally something with a real luxury vibe. But overall, my expectations are mixed, and I can't shake this feeling of disappointment

The fragrance starts with bright and beautiful notes, that's true. But the base, in my opinion, is too sweet and indistinct. The first accords delight with cognac and woody notes with clear cinnamon. I don't really catch apples, I rather feel cherry. Its longevity is excellent, I feel it on me all day. The sillage, though, isn't too loud, more of an average one 🍏

This perfume composition clearly belongs to that boozy-gourmand type that's so popular in our country. Winter holidays or just cozy evenings - that's what it reminds me of. There's something calming yet festive about it, which is so needed right now. Imagine an evening in a country house: a tall Christmas tree stands in the corner, surrounded by bright gift boxes. On the table, a decanter with amber liquid, next to juicy tangerines and shiny dates. Adults are laughing by the fireplace with their glasses, and you, small and a little tired, hold a big chocolate bar that you'll only manage to finish by morning. At that moment, when the world around is quiet and snow-white, a delicate scent of vanilla and dried fruits wafts from the glasses, as if meant for angels 🎄

When I first smelled this fragrance, all I could say was: "Oh my God" Tears of joy flowed when this potion landed on my hand. If Jack Daniel's and Drambuie became a perfume, they would probably smell exactly like this. Under the influence of this magic and my passion for alcohol, I almost spent all my money in the store to get this elixir. But I decided to wait at least half an hour, because the base of a fragrance is very important to me. However, after this time, almost nothing was left of the angelic scent. Only a barely perceptible sweetness. The store where I tested it looks solid, and many talk about its longevity, but on me, it disappeared in half an hour. Maybe I'll buy a decant and try again. Uncle Hennessy, how could this happen((

This fragrance reminds me of a sweet dessert soaked in alcohol, but unfortunately, it doesn't change or develop. The notes are too cloying, even too sweet in the sillage. It lasts 6-8 hours on skin, and over a day on clothes, the sillage doesn't fade either. Compared to its younger brother, this one seems even more cloying and heavy 😔

This fragrance is simply captivating! It's sweet and so rich, as if it contains real cognac. You can also feel rum-soaked biscuit, and fruits that seem drunk, plus a slight bitterness of herbs. The bottle and the color of the liquid only enhance the overall impression. All in all, it's just a real find! 🌟

The scent is familiar to me, it's well-known and I like it, but it's been done so many times already. Apples with cinnamon and cherry jam (cinnamon + tonka beans) right now, in the summer, are too sweet. Alcohol and a warm woody base add their own touch 🍏

The scent reminds me of calvados or apple brandy. It's like a cognac extract with liqueur, where spices and woody notes intertwine with apple nuances. In my head, I picture a wine cellar in an old castle, with barrels of alcohol standing there. The fragrance is warm, cozy, and rich in spices. One of the most impressive launches of 2020

The fragrance is really interesting, sweet-woody, you barely smell the alcohol, but it's there. Overall, it reminds me more of a gourmand, perfect for autumn or winter. I clearly smell the brand's base, especially the one in the new rollerballs

The scent is simply magnificent, like a cozy evening by the fireplace. It's sweet, but doesn't feel heavy. Perfect for going to the theater or some other evening event 🌟

Wonderful scent! On me, it starts with bitter chocolate and cinnamon, and then a pleasant vanilla bitterness remains. Overall, a very good choice) But in summer, it might seem too heavy. In winter, however, it warms perfectly. I've heard it suits both women and men!!

The fragrance is beautiful, sure, but this sweetness with cinnamon and apples. Ugh, awful! Didn't like it right away, and then it just totally got on my nerves. Wear it? Nah, no thanks! It's not the scent of happiness, but rather something clingy and annoying. The name's poetic, sure, but the liquid's color and the bottle remind me more of some cheap booze than of magic. Doesn't create any mood at all, just discomfort

«Angel's Share» - a name that sounds even too poetic, especially compared to By Kilian's «Roses on Ice,» seems to have really hit the mark, but not for me. Angel's Share is a term used to describe losses in cognac and whiskey when part of the alcohol simply evaporates. Kilian Hennessy decided to dedicate a fragrance to this, gave it a beautiful name, and packaged it in a nice bottle, but honestly, it doesn't save the situation. This warm, sweet, and spicy oriental scent seems to be loved by everyone except me.

The smell of Angel's Share starts with something reminiscent of cherry and cognac chocolates, but the cherry here is more symbolic - it's some abstract dried fruits with a sweet-and-sour aftertaste. Next comes warm raisins with caramel and chocolate, but here's the problem: perfumer Benoît Lapouza clearly overdid it with methyl salicylate. This material with its sharp, bitter-sweet smell just kills all the pleasure.

Perhaps I'm too sensitive to this component, but the fragrance seems completely unbalanced. The methyl salicylate just keeps attacking my nose, preventing me from enjoying the other notes. Yes, I see a vanilla-woody finish hidden behind it, but this strange imitation of an oak barrel - like sand in your eyes - spoils everything. Without this pungent note, there's essentially nothing to smell there - woody vanilla has appeared in other fragrances, and not just once 😒

It's so sad to remember how bright and memorable this fragrance once was. It's truly sweet and long-lasting, wearing it was a real pleasure. Cognac, cinnamon, and praline - those are what stood out, but now it all feels so distant. Alas, those moments won't come back 😔
