Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Modern perfume collections, especially those aimed at the premium and niche segments, rarely do without oud. In the Maison Lancôme line, which has only sixteen fragrances, three of them have the word "oud" in their name, but there is no natural oud in them. Oud Bouquet is a typical European oud that was at the peak of popularity in the niche segment in the 2010s. Such a fragrance could be found at The Mall in Milan and Stazione Leopolda in Florence until 2016. The sources of this fake, artificially purified "oud" are Middle Eastern brands that came to exhibitions to conquer the European market. The oud accord in Oud Bouquet is exactly such a fake oud: bright, clean, with clear notes of saffron and medicinal nuances, but without a hint of animalic or smoky undertones. Instead, there's a velvety woody sound and cool minerality, which intertwine with synthetic oakmoss. But this is not necessarily bad for this oud. The accord is expertly crafted and can appeal to many, regardless of their overall attitude towards ouds. The main note here is not oud, which disappears after three hours, but vanilla. And this is not the vanilla found in other Maison Lancôme fragrances. It is spicy, bitter, sweet, and slightly smoky; it resembles the small black specks from Mövenpick's Vanilla Dream ice cream. The vanilla in Oud Bouquet is devoid of characteristic fecal and fatty nuances. Despite the intense accords, the fragrance is not too bright and retains the politeness and elegance inherent in the entire collection. This is a balanced composition that may appeal to lovers of spicy-vanilla fragrances. But is it worth trying for those looking for the perfect oud? Definitely, if you want to avoid the dirtiness inherent in natural oud!!!

What an amazing scent! You can smell chocolate, and something like polished wood too. It's like opening a fancy wooden box, and inside there's excellent chocolate. Everything looks so beautiful and rich. This fragrance is just made for going out

The fragrance is sweet, with a bright rose note and a spicy, almost candy-like amber. Its longevity is impressive, but for me, it's too intense and even a little suffocating 🤔

In my opinion, this is truly one of the most attractive compositions with rose and oud. The balance is simply perfect. The rose, sweetish and gourmand, sounds together with resins, creating an amazing combination. I especially like the 2014 version, it's much richer and more refined compared to the new releases. That feeling of deep sadness and melancholy it evokes is unforgettable!!

a fragrance with notes of praline, vanilla, saffron, rose, and oud is clearly not for those just starting their journey with perfumery. the combination of oud and saffron can be quite risky and deceptive, so it's better to apply it in small amounts. in my opinion, despite the luxurious bottle, this perfume is more suitable for men, especially Eastern men in white robes. I wouldn't advise risking it without prior testing

The scent is really rich, at first it might even seem too heavy, perhaps due to the abundance of rose, which I'm not fond of. But then it starts to unfold, becoming warm and cozy, with a light smoky haze. For winter - simply an excellent choice 🌟

The oud scent is dry, with a light powdery nuance. It feels like echoes of a bonfire somewhere nearby. In my mind, I picture a cozy home tea party by the fireplace, where logs crackle and comfort reigns all around. It just makes you want to wrap yourself in a blanket and enjoy the moment. It's really pleasant and warm :)

It turned out rather lovely - rose with oud, embraced by chocolate and vanilla. It gives the impression that the fragrance tried to be in the Montale style, but its intensity was significantly toned down. There's nothing to fault, except maybe plagiarism, but it actually smells better than many Montales. HORRIBLE! Not as chemical and not as aggressive
