Description of the composition

The pyramid of notes of Fantasquatic begins with a bright top chord, where grapefruit and lemon offer instant freshness and a citrus burst, like the first rays of sun over the ocean.

At the heart of the composition, spicy depths unfold with cardamom and coriander, which intertwine with marine chord, creating a feeling of a cool breeze and mystery.

The base of the fragrance is rooted in warm and earthy notes: gray ambergris adds a silky sensuality, papyrus brings a dry green texture, and patchouli completes the composition with woody stability, leaving a long and memorable trail.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

At first, everything looked promising, but then the fragrance just disappeared on me. With Fantasquatic, it seems it just didn't work out, not meant to be. The opening is really good, without the usual clichés often found in aquatic compositions. Everything looks stylish and decent, but

I don't have the best relationship with the Mugler brand, but I always try new releases with interest. This line also appealed to me. I appreciate aquatics, but Mugler's patchouli sometimes feels too intrusive. Let's see what happens this time!!!

If you haven't yet read the full review where we dissected the entire Mugler collection, you absolutely must — in the article I show that Mugler not only shocks but also understands what true elegance is. The guide was written in anticipation of Fantasquatic's release - I wanted to gather information about Les Exceptions. At the end of April, the new product finally went on sale. It's strange that in 2021 such a luxury brand releases an aquatic fragrance in a boutique collection. For men's perfumery, this is not common at all - now mostly amber and woody scents are offered. Niche brands sometimes do aquatics, trying to avoid everything from the nineties. But Mugler didn't just release an aquatic fragrance; they emphasized it in the name. Although the concept implies genre renewal, so there's no need to be surprised. Fantasquatic is indeed as described - aquatic with citrus and mineral notes. But it's a completely different take on an outdated genre. The aquatic note is not the main one, but it's important. If you were to characterize it, it would be "elegance." It sounds strange, but the aquatic accord here isn't vulgar; it's recognizable but not crude. I can't say exactly what modern aquatic materials the perfumer used, but I feel something between flowers, watermelon, and freshness. These nuances are so harmoniously intertwined that I wouldn't be surprised if it's one material. The composition begins with citruses - sweet and juicy, but not disappearing instantly. Yes, they are bright, but they fade slowly and beautifully, giving way to a transparent floral-fruity aquatic that becomes salty-ambery. There's just the right amount of salt in the composition. The mineral accord is carefully introduced and relies on a woody block of cashmeran and patchouli. Patchouli adds weight, which is important for aquatic fragrances. I feel a bit of white musk - clean

After a long evening by the water, when my lips are slightly salty and the sunset envelops the embankment, I enjoy a small shot of icy limoncello. A delicious brownie adds contrast, and the relaxation from idleness fills me. A burning kiss and a sea breeze that gently touches the skin and ruffles the hair create the atmosphere. All this is Fantasquatic, like a reminder of an unforgettable vacation or an ideal fragrance that transports you to a world of aquatic delights

Mugler's line is really cool, the fragrances are interesting and unusual. For example, I really like chypre - they've played with pear so originally here 😍 This fragrance has all the notes I love, especially aquatic ones. I haven't gotten tired of 90s perfumes 😄 And, of course, Mugler's patchouli is just super! So yes, I'll definitely continue testing 😌

How much salt is in this fragrance? I always lack salt; I want the scent to be simply salty, but I haven't found any like that yet. Among my favorites are Aqua Divina by Bvlgari and Reveal by Klein. If you happen to like this fragrance, but the price is too high 😒
