Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Chene unfolds as a continuous scent journey, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The signature of Serge Lutens comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum sets the right density and pace of development.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Animals, Drinks, Spicy and Wood. The palette also extends to Aromatic.

Without strict stage separation the fragrance opens as a single chord with a soft-dry woody mood: Beeswax, Birch, Caraway, Rum, Thyme, Tonka bean and oak.

The heart and base are read as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which gives the structure continuity.

The new fragrance, in my opinion, turned out to be quite ordinary. Wood forms the base, to which other notes gradually blend in. Birch accents and the smell of a heated oak barrel, reminiscent of a sauna atmosphere-a bit rough and with a slight sourness-stand out particularly. Overall, it's beautiful, but it lacks a certain something

Choosing a fragrance from this brand took me a long time. In the end, I settled on one. It's called 'Oak.' Sounds great! But the scent, honestly, is very powerful, strict, with woody and masculine notes. It's hard to imagine it on a woman. It would have to be a real steel lady ))

When I apply the perfume, it reveals an amazing woodiness - you can feel both moss-covered bark and fresh wood, leaves. A slightly resinous note, so rich and natural. Then cognac and spices appear. The fragrance is truly delightful, bravo to the creator!

The scent reminds me of an oak broom, and somewhere in the distance, birch tar is felt. The fragrance is very calm, doesn't cause sharp sensations, rather monotonous and cohesive. There are no resinous notes of conifers or alcohol here. It's truly unique and hard to find anything similar. The sillage isn't too bright, but the longevity is pleasing-it lasts from 5 to 8 hours

This fragrance, honestly, is one of the few I genuinely like. Finally, I found an almost perfect woody scent, nearly a hundred percent. It's so tart, even a little astringent - reminds me as if cognac was poured out of a barrel, and the wood and alcohol remained. There's something nostalgic about it, like the smell of fallen, slightly rotten leaves. So pensive and tart, I can't help but notice 😏
