Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Elle Shocking begins with a vibrant top accord, where ginger adds spicy sharpness, mandarin gives citrus freshness, and raspberry brings fruity sweetness.

In the heart of the composition, freesia, jasmine, and peony create a delicate floral bouquet that softens the initial brightness and adds airiness.

The base is represented by cedar, patchouli, and musk, providing woody warmth and longevity, finishing the fragrance with an elegant and cozy sillage that envelops in a gentle cloud.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

What a total nonsense, honestly. This peony just smells like soap, and the raspberry here is completely out of place. And this ginger keeps popping up again, as if they can't do without it. Awful, how they love to shove it into fragrances!

This perfume reminds me of Summer, but there's too much similarity. Raspberry, spices, musk - it all blends into one stream. The scent seems light and bright, but there's something heavy in it that doesn't let go 😔

The scent is very similar to the summer version, they're almost indistinguishable. Just as bright and fresh, like a sunny day. Longevity is excellent, and the sillage is noticeable. You could say these two versions can easily replace each other

I didn't get along with this flanker. The ginger here is too bright and intrusive, not at all to my liking. I'm not a fan of this note in fragrances, and it doesn't make me happy ((

Citrus with some watery flowers, and the raspberry smells like soap. This scent seems to have completely lost its individuality and the appeal it started with

The ginger here comes through with such a beautiful tartness, it's really delightful. Raspberry and mandarin complement it perfectly, creating harmony. Floral notes are present but not too intrusive. Frankly speaking, the composition turned out quite successful. The mood of the classic version seems to have been preserved!!

At first, the fragrance seemed too sharp and even a bit heavy, but then it pleasantly surprised me with its floral-ginger aftertaste 🌸

This perfume is truly bright and inspiring. It's like it pushes you to act, makes you want to do something. Sometimes you're getting ready to go somewhere, and at the last moment, you lose the desire to go out. That's when it comes to the rescue!

As for El Shocking, its versatility is simply astonishing. It pairs perfectly with any clothing style. In casual wear, it adds a relaxed and slightly careless vibe, and in business attire, it gives confidence. At celebrations, it makes the atmosphere even richer and more festive. I often use it for my own purposes, and it really works!

But it's worth noting that some people might find it a bit intrusive, so I try not to wear it during the day, especially if close contact with others is expected

The scent is simply magnificent for spring and summer! It's energizing, bright, and truly inspiring. This special ginger freshness - it's something incredible!! It's impossible not to fall in love with it, it just won't happen!

The fragrance didn't make a big impression on me. First, ginger and peony are felt, and they remain until the very end. Overall, quite pleasant and soft. Shocking Elle became a great option for me for autumn and winter; it's unobtrusive and not too bright. In general, I liked it, but Yves Saint Laurent has more interesting fragrances; this one seems a bit monotonous, and interest in it fades over time 🌼
