Imitation Man joined the Amouage portfolio in 2018. A masculine fragrance belonging to the chypre and leather families. This scent was born from the partnership of Christopher Chong and Leslie Girard. A fragrance from the Imitation collection, in eau de parfum.

Description of the composition

The composition of Imitation Man evolves as an expressive line of development, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The signature of Amouage comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

In the first seconds you sense spicy sparkling first notes: Black Pepper, Cedrat and Nutmeg.

In the middle phase you sense Iris, Rose and Violet holding a harmonious floral direction.

The internal accord map is built around these accords: Animalistic, Balsamic, Citrus and Floral forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Wood, Powdery, Leather and Spicy enrich the profile without taking over. The profile is masculine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. For persistence Very low points to a sustained drydown presence.

This isn't Fahrenheit, guys, not at all. There's no hint of gasoline here. Instead, there's the smell of animal hide, which feels like real leather, not something from a haberdashery. And all of it is framed by a light violet accent. Simply magnificent

Violet, iris, leather. Does this fragrance really have nothing in common with Fahrenheit? I've been looking for something similar for a long time, because Fahrenheit in perfumery doesn't please me at all anymore. I wonder, maybe this is something new and unusual

On me, this scent smells quite unusual - iris and leather with some herbal freshness. Although perfumes usually stick in my memory, this one just flew out of my head, even though a little bit of the base is still felt on the skin. I expected more, especially for such a price, but in the end, it's just mediocre. But, of course, everyone has their own taste. You should definitely test the scent before buying, otherwise you might be disappointed
