Writing a review about Amouage perfumes is no easy task, that's for sure. Their fragrances are very complex and multi-layered, so describing them can be difficult. Journey starts with peppery and floral notes, but it's clearly a masculine composition. Gradually, it moves into spicy and resinous accents, with a slight hint of frankincense, but the freshness still remains until the very end. It's not as aggressive as Interlude or Myths, rather it resembles a European style, but at the same time, it's Amouage, and you can feel it right away 🔥

This perfume, in my opinion, unfairly remains in the shadows, despite the brand's popularity. From the very beginning, Sichuan pepper pleasantly tickles the nostrils, but then its softness is harmoniously balanced by notes of leather, tobacco, and frankincense. All components seem perfectly blended, and none of them stand out too much. It's like a custom-made suit that fits just perfectly ))))

The third Amouage in my collection, and what can I say? The opening, of course, is impressive! Bright, powerful, with smoke, menthol, and pepper. It's like Mentos candies with pepper and drops of neroli mixed with frankincense. It sounds beautiful, but alas, not for long. After ten minutes, the mint starts to resemble some kind of medicinal back balm. And yes, woody notes appear with a slight tobacco aftertaste. But this menthol ointment doesn't go away, it's like it's sitting on your neck and won't let go. The perfume stays close to the skin, with almost no sillage. And that's where it all ends. The opening is bright, but the drydown is boring and mundane. Epic, by the way, plays longer and more interestingly on me. It's meditative and calm. Journey is beautiful, but short-lived. In the base, it becomes very quiet, only I can hear it. The menthol coolness with bitter cypriol and tobacco dissolves into sweetish-smoky wood and fades away. No leather, tonka beans, or musk are audible at all. On me, the fragrance lasted a little over three hours, and then only with my nose to my wrist. Not enough, honestly. Although sometimes the absence of sillage is even a good thing. I'll try it again, maybe something will change
