This fragrance is truly made from high-quality essences and possesses a depth not always found in other perfumes. Its composition features elements of a classic fougère: lavender, oakmoss, and grass create an elegant combination. The frankincense here is exotic and romantic, while mint and absinthe add freshness. Leather notes give the scent a bit of toughness, but at the same time, they fit organically into the overall picture.
Memoir Man opens with bright green accords that gradually transition into more woody notes. This doesn't restrict the fragrance; on the contrary, it allows each component to express itself. Cedar and sandalwood create softness, and menthol tobacco emphasizes masculinity.
The scent is so harmonious that sometimes it seems to disappear, leaving only a light aftertaste. I only experience this sensation with one other perfume. Memoir Man for me - is like poetry about forests and fog, about streams and trees.
But there's a small nuance that bothers me. At some point, I start to notice a combination of vetiver and leather notes that reminds me of Soviet plasticine. This throws me off a bit, though perhaps it's just my personal reaction. Overall, Memoir Man is a successful fragrance that, although it doesn't quite fit into the general Amouage line, still retains its uniqueness and elegance
