Identity and Release History

Discover Chez Bond — a fragrance that has become a symbol of New York elegance from Bond No. 9.

Released in 2003, this perfume marked the birth of the first American niche house dedicated to a single city.

Founded by Laurice Rahmé, the brand passionately embodies the spirit of New York, and Chez Bond is a prime example, blending urban chic with natural freshness.

As an eau de parfum, Chez Bond offers a balanced concentration, perfect for everyday wear.

Positioned as a men's fragrance, its versatile character also appeals to women who appreciate green and woody chords, making it a desirable addition to any collection.

Positioning and Wearability

Chez Bond belongs to the fougère family, giving it a classic foundation with a modern twist.

Its barely perceptible trail creates an intimate aura, ideal for office days, dates, or casual meetings.

Thanks to the green notes, the fragrance particularly blooms in the spring and summer months, adding a refreshing note to your look.

For an optimal impression, it is recommended to apply Chez Bond to pulse points, such as wrists and neck, so that body heat helps the notes unfold.

Although exact dosage data is not specified, 2-3 sprays will ensure a soft and lasting presence, adapting to your individuality.

Connections and Alternatives

If Chez Bond has captured your scent sense, explore similar fragrances such as Mugler Miroir des Vanités, Orto Parisi Viride, and Pull & Bear Black Shot.

Chez Bond not only strengthened Bond No. 9's reputation as an innovative brand but also became a cult choice for connoisseurs seeking a fragrance with history and character.

Its influence is felt in how the brand continues to develop the New York theme, inspiring new generations of perfume enthusiasts.

Key Composition Elements

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Chez Bond is a skillful dance of freshness and coziness, where each note plays its role in creating a memorable impression.

At the start, you are greeted by citrus chord and grass, offering an invigorating, almost dewy burst that instantly refreshes and awakens the senses.

In the heart of the composition, tea and violet leaf unfold, adding subtle floral-green nuances that soften the initial brightness and introduce a note of elegant sophistication.

The base notes, such as sandalwood, vetiver, and white cedar, provide longevity and a warm, earthy finish, enveloping the skin in a soft woody trail.

Green chord permeates the entire pyramid, binding the elements into a cohesive whole and creating a fougère symphony that smoothly transitions from initial freshness to deep serenity, leaving behind a barely perceptible, yet enchanting trail.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

From the very beginning, it feels like a cold wind with cedar trees hits your face, and somewhere nearby, tea with lemon is brewing. I definitely liked that. I put it on my husband, and he walked around all day as if he was lost in a forest. Later, some green notes start to appear, which are a bit jarring, and sandalwood with vetiver, but that's not as pleasant anymore. Overall, it sounds noble, but not for everyone

I doubt that vetiver or cedar can be detected right away. These notes appear only at the very end and are barely noticeable. If you leave the scent on a blotter for a couple of days, then maybe something will be felt. The first 30 seconds are just grass and citrus, but that's not what will stay with you long. The main notes, it seems to me, are lavender, violet leaf, tea, tobacco, and sandalwood. Tobacco and sandalwood create the illusion of cedar. The notes indicated by the manufacturer are more like a marketing ploy than a real pyramid. It's just an attempt to distinguish this fragrance from Creed and Davidoff, which are essentially very similar. First there was Creed in 1985, then Davidoff released its version, and later Bond No 9 added its interpretation

The aromatic composition includes bright citrus notes, fresh greens, herbal tea, cedarwood, sandalwood, and vetiver. This is truly an impressive eau de parfum for men!!

The fragrance is simply amazing! It perfectly combines notes of fresh greens, bright tea, and citrus. It's both refreshing and invigorating, creating a feeling of coolness. The longevity, however, isn't very high - about three hours, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it 🌿

Chez Bond is a truly interesting green fragrance that surprises with its versatility. It combines freshness and a slight tartness, as well as a pleasant sourness that adds a twist. A light powderiness is felt in the base, which makes it even more appealing. It's an excellent choice for spring and summer, suitable for both men and women. Although the top notes disappear quite quickly, the base delights with its longevity 🌿
