The combination of wax, ylang-ylang, benzoin, and lily of the valley creates a dense cloud of white musk with a slight bitterness from tonka beans. It's simply gorgeous! Gradually, the fragrance unfolds, and I start to catch piquant notes of pepper and white flowers. Aldehydes, which aren't listed in the pyramid, are also clearly present, creating a sense of "cleanliness." After a couple of hours, it starts to resemble Le Labo Aldehyde 44 Dallas - not entirely identical, but overlaps in the scents are noticeable.
In terms of mood, Musk Pure is very calming and contrasting. It provides both freshness and warmth simultaneously, as if a gentle breeze is blowing on sun-warmed skin. It has innocence and sensuality, which creates an interesting dialogue between the components. I'm thrilled with this fragrance and glad it's now in my collection!
