Orchid Soleil: Luxury in Every Ray

Released in 2016, Tom Ford Orchid Soleil is a perfume water that embodies the uncompromising luxury and bold sensuality characteristic of the brand's DNA.

As part of the Black Orchid collection, this fragrance offers a sunny and more airy interpretation, while retaining the mystery and elegance of the original.

Orchid Soleil is positioned as a feminine fragrance, perfectly suited for those seeking a blend of floral tenderness and oriental warmth.

Its middle trail provides an unobtrusive yet lasting presence, making it a versatile choice for various occasions—from everyday elegance to evening outings.

To fully unlock the potential of Orchid Soleil, it is recommended to use the "enter the cloud" technique for application on the skin, which creates a light and even distribution.

For clothing, it is optimal to apply 1 to 2 sprays to maintain a subtle trail without overloading.

This perfume water ensures good longevity, allowing you to enjoy the fragrance throughout the day.

Fragrance Authors: The Magic of the Union Between Sonia Constant and Tom Ford

Two outstanding perfumers worked on the creation of Orchid Soleil: Sonia Constant and Tom Ford.

Their collaborative effort brought a unique blend of expertise to the fragrance—Constant is known for her exquisite floral compositions, while Ford adds boldness and luxury, reflecting his vision of modern femininity.

Orchid Soleil strengthens Tom Ford's reputation as a brand that creates bold and memorable fragrances.

The influence of this release on the Black Orchid collection is evident: it expands it, offering a lighter and sunnier alternative that attracts fans who value depth and elegance.

If you enjoyed Orchid Soleil, it's worth noting similar fragrances such as Zadig & Voltaire This Is Her!, Trussardi Sound of Donna, and Tom Ford Soleil Blanc.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Orchid Soleil begins with a bright and spicy start: bitter orange (bigarade), cypress and pink pepper (red berries) create an energetic and refreshing opening that instantly captures attention.

The heart of the fragrance unfolds with floral luxury, featuring notes of lily, orchid and tuberose, adding tenderness and depth, characteristic of floral and white floral accords.

The base of Orchid Soleil immerses you in a warm and cozy atmosphere thanks to chestnut, patchouli, vanilla and whipped cream, blending Oriental, gourmand and sweet notes into a long-lasting and enveloping finish.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This version of the perfume is clearly different from the others, it's totally unique. I can smell white flowers, cream, and a bit of bitter powdery pollen against a backdrop of sweet vanilla. Overall, I really took a liking to this scent, it's just perfect for spring 🌸

This fragrance is a brighter and more energetic version of Ford's Black Orchid. It really differs in scent and character, but what they have in common is a luxurious and rich sound. Very sunny and cheerful, with bright spices. You can feel a bouquet of exotic flowers in it, as well as an alluring nutty cream with vanilla 🌼

This scent reminds me of something sweet, like you just made buckwheat porridge with milk. If you don't dig into the notes, it sounds really weird. But it also has a floral touch, especially tuberose, which adds an interesting accent 🌸

On my skin, this perfume is like a tuberose celebration! It's bright, dense, yet very pleasant. The sweetness of white flowers, cream, and even a hint of chestnuts - all this creates an amazing combination. The scent reminds me of a sunny day in a hot desert. It's loud and persistent, but that's exactly what drew me in

It's such a shame that patchouli ruins the whole impression again! Yesterday I put this scent on and was thrilled by the creamy sweetness of tuberose, bitter orange, and lily, as well as the vanilla-chestnut nuance. But these persistent patchouli notes in the base again gave off some unpleasant masculine vibe. It's just disappointing. I bought it, and after about an hour, I suddenly smelled this harsh aftertaste - what a surprise

The fragrance is really complex, and that explains a lot of the negative reviews. In warm weather, it opens up especially interestingly, reminiscent of sweet ice cream with white flowers. Lily and tuberose are quite noticeable, and the chestnut note adds a nutty nuance to it

Without a doubt, this is one of the most memorable fragrances I've ever tried. I use it every day, and it doesn't get tiring. For a long time it was my favorite, until I met Black Afgano! Now Tom Ford Black is in second place for me, and the Afghan confidently takes first

I don't know how I ever even considered a blind buy, even though my hands were shaking with nerves. Extreme isn't for me yet, as it turns out)) There's just too much of everything in this fragrance. It's beautiful, for sure, but I'm really missing citrus, and what's there just leaves a bitter note. No, not just bitter, but truly bitter. The intensity is just off the charts, and my silly head decided to spray it on my hair, and now all I can think is: "I'm running, hair flying back" - just to get rid of this scent faster))) Sweet-bitter tuberose - how do you like that? I didn't really like it, so I'll postpone re-testing for a couple more months 🌼

What the heck, what an unusual fragrance! It's white floral, but with such a sweetness that it's just surprising. If you try to understand it, it's definitely tuberose with chestnuts that are sweet to death. It's bright, dense, and long-lasting, it just envelops you

The start of the fragrance is pleasing with citrus and spicy accents, and bright flowers unfold in the heart. For me, the lily is too pushy and sharp, and combined with orchid and tuberose, it just suffocates with its richness. There's also plenty of sweetness here)))

This fragrance is limited edition, and they discontinued it in 2020. It just didn't work for me. I tried to wear it three times, but it was all to no avail. No offense to lovers of this perfume, but for me, it brings up associations with an old closet and mothballs that have been sitting there forever. Looks like tuberose played a cruel trick on me 😅

Recently I tried a perfume at my friend's place and was blown away. How could I have missed such a pleasure? Although, basically, it's all clear. It's just that I always gravitated towards completely different scents. How sad that I didn't notice this earlier!!

When I first smelled this fragrance, I was in shock. At first, it seems too sharp, with a camphor-like note. But then, oh wonder, it starts to unfold! Tuberose with creamy notes and a light hint of chestnut fills the air. It's just incredible!

The tuberose here is like a cream, but with the bitterness of chestnuts and the sharpness of patchouli with pepper. The scent is heavy, it presses on your chest, you can really feel its density

It's so weird, but this fragrance just leaves no trace. Neither I nor anyone around me can smell it on me. It's somehow too quiet and soft, like it's hiding. The sillage is almost non-existent, and the smell itself doesn't excite me at all. And by the way, the bottle doesn't look very appealing. Honestly, I'm disappointed
