Fragrance information:

Imagine a fragrance that transports you to a mysterious garden at dusk – that's exactly what Tom Ford Ombre de Hyacinth is.

Released in 2012, this perfume became part of the exclusive Private Blend Jardin Noir line from the legendary brand Tom Ford, known for its uncompromising luxury and bold sensuality.

The name "Ombre de Hyacinth" translates to "shadow of hyacinth," hinting at the play of light and shadow in the composition, which perfectly reflects its mysterious character.

Positioning and Wearability

Tom Ford Ombre de Hyacinth is presented as a unisex fragrance, making it an ideal choice for modern men and women who value versatility.

In the form of eau de parfum, it offers a balanced intensity suitable for daily wear but refined enough for special occasions.

Its medium sillage provides an unobtrusive yet memorable presence, perfect for the office, a date, or an evening out.

For optimal effect, it is recommended to use 2 to 3 sprays on the skin and 2 to 3 sprays on clothing, allowing you to enjoy the fragrance all day without overload.

The fragrance is suitable for the spring and summer months when its green and floral notes are most vividly revealed.

It is also complimentary and recognizable, thanks to the unique combination of notes, making it an excellent gift or addition to a personal collection.

Authors and Influence

Behind the creation of this masterpiece is Tom Ford himself, whose creative genius reflects the brand's DNA: boldness, elegance, and attention to detail.

As creative director, Ford infused this fragrance with his philosophy of luxury without compromise.

Ombre de Hyacinth fits into the floral family, with accents of green and musky notes, emphasizing its versatility and modernity.

This release solidified Tom Ford's reputation as an innovator in the perfume industry, offering fragrances that go beyond traditional gender stereotypes.

If you enjoyed Tom Ford Ombre de Hyacinth, you might explore similar fragrances, such as Amouage Ciel Woman with its airy floral chords, Nina Ricci Nina L'Elixir for a playful fruity-floral note, and Tom Ford Violet Blonde, which also plays with violet motifs within the brand.

Description of the composition

Fragrance Pyramid and Development

The composition of Tom Ford Ombre de Hyacinth is a true journey through notes, starting with a refreshing and green opening.

In the top notes, galbanum adds a resinous freshness, while magnolia and violet leaf create a floral and slightly earthy accord, reminiscent of a cool garden.

As it develops, in the heart of the fragrance, the dominant notes of hyacinth unfold, which lends a sweet and dusty character, complemented by the tenderness of jasmine and the spicy spark of pink pepper.

This combination makes the heart rich and emotional.

Finally, the base is anchored by warm and sensual benzoin and musk, ensuring longevity, depth, and a soft trail that lingers on the skin for hours.

Such development makes the fragrance dynamic, suitable for various scenarios, from daytime strolls to evening events.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

I can't say this hyacinth became my favorite - it reminds me more of sharp, aggressive grass than flowers. But it looks amazing! It has such a magical, unearthly beauty. The whole collection seems made for night enchantresses or mysterious creatures ✨

The scent is simply captivating! It's light and fresh, you can feel greenery and flowers, and the musk in the base adds warmth and softness. Seriously, it's an excellent choice - long-lasting and with a gorgeous sillage. Pure bliss! )

I can't quite figure out what exactly creates this effect, but the hyacinth here is clearly fresh, as if just pulled from damp soil. This earthy note kinda throws me off a bit... 🌱

I really liked this fragrance. The hyacinth comes through clearly, so wet and fresh, with a bitter greenness. Spicy-musky notes are kind of in the background. Elegant and beautiful, but at the same time it evokes a certain sadness, as if something has gone irrevocably

Finally I got my hands on this fragrance))) Not much to describe, really, but I'll give it a shot))) It's just an incredibly powdery scent))) Exactly like our moms used to wear when they were young. Real retro in a tiny bottle))) Even though it looks cute, it's not quite for me 😅

The hyacinth here is a bit green, the powder is barely noticeable, and fresh pepper with musk - all of this, of course, sounds delicate. But, damn, in a work setting, this isn't what you need. No comfort whatsoever, just irritation. I don't know how anyone can stand this. Everything is just too soft, and I want something brighter. Overall, it didn't impress me at all ))))

The scent reminds me of a dense powder, overall quite pleasant. The freshness of hyacinth and green notes add interest. There might be a slight sharpness, but that doesn't bother me. However, I don't plan to wear it often, as it doesn't quite fit my preferences

Hyacinth... for fans, probably. But overall, just violet flowers and greenery. The sillage, yes, beautiful, but maybe it's just me... )))

Ugh, such a terribly cloying smell, I was looking for hyacinth but only found nonsense. Powdery iris and resinous notes, and on top of that, in weather where it initially smells of green leaves. For me to appreciate this, all the stars in the sky would have to align 🌌

the green violet scent hits your nose from the first second, and it's quite unpleasant. the freshness of hyacinth is barely noticeable, but it seems like that's how it's meant to be. there's too much powder, it's overwhelming and creates a heavy feeling

The scent is sharp and green, like something's not quite right… Over time, a powdery violet starts to emerge, but the hyacinth is barely there… Just a hint, on the edge, and it's a pity, since it's my favorite flower… Ultimately, you only get the smell of the stem and bulb, which is pretty odd… So once again my hopes were dashed… 😕
