Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

I'll start by saying I'll be talking for a while because I have a lot of impressions and I love to write. So, I only recently encountered niche perfumery, this month, and this fragrance became one of the first. The backstory is this: I've been into essential oils for a year or a year and a half, collecting them and using them in my daily life. I always order blind. In one of my packages, I ordered spruce essential oil. Before, I didn't have a particular love for coniferous scents, except for the forest and a certain drink. But this oil became one of my favorites, and it's what prompted me to try a perfume from Annick Goutal. I ordered samples because I don't see the point in spending money on a large bottle if I don't know how it smells. My budget is small for now.

Now about the fragrance itself. The samples arrived, and out of six Annick fragrances, I liked five, and this one is one of the most memorable. The citrus notes here aren't bright, more like in the background. The main notes are pine, spruce, and mint. Spruce and pine are the base, and mint sort of frames everything. I can't say anything about angelica and immortelle, but they do give a slight herbal undertone. Maybe they're important, but I've never smelled them separately.

Overall, the fragrance reminds me of a sweet minty-spruce chewing gum, but not literally. There's something of men's coniferous perfumes, but with a softness and sweet notes that keep it from becoming too masculine. The fragrance is truly unisex. I'm sure it will smell masculine on a man and feminine on a woman. The composition matches the name. It really is a starry night! A fresh, crisp, dark blue night with bright stars, summery but cool, somewhere in Italian gardens where coniferous balms are burning. There's no smokiness here, the scent is fresh

This perfume is probably the most desired in the entire brand line. For me, it reminds me of mint candies: sweetish and with a slight tartness thanks to the coniferous notes. The scent truly refreshes, like a mojito on a hot day. But in the eau de parfum, it becomes more intense and herbaceous, with a somewhat medicinal undertone, which sounds strange to me. Ultimately, my favorite is the eau de toilette with the scent of a starry night

It's a combination of fir, pine, and mint. The true spirit of winter holidays. The notes intertwine perfectly and create harmony. There's a delicate hint of caramel and cane sugar 🍬

The fragrance is warm, with herbal and resinous notes, you can hear spices and a light citrus freshness in it. It creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere, perfect for cold days. A real beauty 🌿

This fragrance is just awful. The freshness it promises turns out to be some cloying sweetness that presses on your brain. The spices, which should be the highlight, only add to the overall heaviness. There's nothing beautiful about it, rather, it's just something strange and unpleasant. One of the most unsuccessful options in the collection, and I don't understand how it can be called unusual

This fragrance is a true enigma, full of emotions and contradictions. It's like a love story that leaves behind a slight sadness. "Eglė - Queen of the Grass Snakes" isn't just a perfume, but an entire world where pine cones intertwine with forest flowers and herbs. You can feel the freshness of a coniferous forest in it, but with a special tartness that makes you ponder. Each breath is like diving into a mysterious forest where its secrets are hidden. This bottle is more than just a scent, it stirs the imagination and leaves many questions ))

This fragrance reminds me of sweets, but not just minty ones, also lemon and even anise, with a strong emphasis on conifers. It's like it transports you to a forest where freshness and greenery intertwine. Overall, it's a pretty successful attempt to convey the spirit of a coniferous forest, but something is still missing 🌲

I smell mint in this fragrance, but anise is missing, as if it was never there. Pine needles are also present, and some kind of terrible burnt smell. Yes, the fragrance is really strange, no arguing with that!!! But do I even need such strangeness? That's still a question

I tried this fragrance, and unfortunately, I have to report that I'm allergic to it. And quite severely. I tested it for several days, and then decided to try other scents. But, alas, after using it, an unpleasant rash appeared on my skin where I applied it. It seems there's some component that causes irritation for me. I've never encountered anything like this before. Now, having been burned, I'll be much more careful when choosing perfume
