Imagine a kaleidoscope changing its patterns with every turn. Sometimes it's just a change of colors: red, yellow, green, black - they arrange themselves in a new sequence. And sometimes the shapes also change, creating completely new patterns. That's the magic! That's how I experienced Pierre Negrin's Interlude fragrance. It's true art, where each note is like a brick in a pyramid, creating a grandiose sound. Interlude is amazingly multifaceted, it plays with colors and shapes. Every time I inhale it, I discover new details and nuances. This fragrance can be tested for months, and each time you find something new. This is a sign of a carefully crafted perfume, which, like a faceted diamond, reveals its facets.

Released in 2012, Interlude is classified as a woody oriental fragrance, inspired by chaos concealing harmony. And it truly is! The beginning of the fragrance is quite intense and complex, but soon it transitions into rich harmonies. Here there is oregano and opoponax, which gives sweetness and balsamic notes. The first impression is an explosion of sweetness, smoke, and mentholated greenery, and then fragrant berries appear, and opoponax again, but more balsamic. Sweet nuances of opoponax create the sensation of nutty caramel.

The fragrance resembles an old homeopathic shop mixed with a Moroccan bazaar. The first thing that came to mind was Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan with its herbal opening. The amber here is incredibly beautiful, it creates the effect of a kaleidoscope changing colors. Over time, the herbal sharpness fades, and smoky frankincense binds all the notes together. After a while, a dry woody scent appears, which is very subtle and beautiful.

Interlude continues to change, and by the middle of the fourth hour, sandalwood becomes noticeable. It adds a creamy, nutty nuance, creating a multi-layered

Finally got to Interlude! After Afghans, Cuirs, Fortis, searching for oils in shops, I finally got what I was looking for. Here, burnt smoky wood, wormwood, a little musk with pepper. Resin like in a censer, smoldering amber sticks on sandalwood. Everything is like on an oiled leather apron. Amazing! Just praying it doesn't disappear from skin after a couple of hours like Epic, Cravache, and others. If it stays, it will be my second full bottle of niche after Ceylon by Odin

This fragrance is simply amazing! I'll quietly snatch it from my husband, and he won't even suspect a thing. On female skin, it reveals itself completely differently. It has three main characteristics. In the morning, as soon as a drop touches the skin, it starts to sound brighter and brighter, reaching its peak by five o'clock, but then it doesn't lose its strength. It stays on the skin until late evening, and I see no limit to its longevity. The second characteristic is its amazing ability to change and show different facets. Sometimes it surprises with unexpected notes. The third characteristic is that despite its richness, it's not overpowering; on the contrary, it's very refined and delicate. On me, I most often sense frankincense and leather. The patchouli here smells masculine, just how I like it, and sometimes oud appears, mixed with rose oil, and woody notes, but without resin

At first, this fragrance reminds me of some strange mix with too many pickled cucumbers, and then it turns into the smell of cucumbers being smoked over a campfire. It's funny, of course, but I don't want to smell like an appetizer; I prefer to eat them, not wear them. Overall, it all looks quite fun and even ridiculous, sometimes to tears, but wearing such a perfume - that's not for me 😅

Interlude, in my opinion, is truly one of the most iconic fragrances of this brand. It's something of a must-buy. For me, it became the beginning of my acquaintance with the "adult" Orient and, in a way, its culmination. The smell of smoke and sweets, very bright and rich. It feels like the creators aimed to convey an oriental atmosphere, but with a slight Western influence. It's especially good in winter, but you can wear it in summer too, imagining yourself as a sheikh. The main thing is to remember others; in a stuffy office or on public transport, it might be excessive )))

The scent is really long-lasting and leaves a trail. Sweet and spicy notes clearly dominate. Resins and oregano seem to be at the forefront. The sillage is reminiscent of a spice shop, but if you overdo it, it can start to feel oppressive and cause discomfort. Overall, the perfume is unusual and interesting, but there's something sad and lingering about it 😔

The smell isn't bad, of course, but it feels kind of artificial, dead. It reminds me of something like a museum. You can't wear it every day, maybe only for some important events or official meetings. The scent looks very strict and refined, as if you've put on a three-piece suit - a jacket, trousers, and this Interlude Man by Amouage. It probably only suits high-ranking military officials. Honestly, I don't even know where I would wear it. I'm a programmer, and nothing like that is on my horizon, so this scent is clearly not for me

This perfume, in my opinion, is one of the most memorable among the oud fragrances I've encountered. There's not a drop of sweetness in it, no hint of frivolity. Rather, it makes an impression of something majestic and serious. Leather notes are felt in the base, as well as an interesting animalic touch that gives it special depth. But, honestly, it leaves a bitter aftertaste, as if something important has slipped away

At first, just some disgusting green taste, like I bathed in vinegar 😤 And then, oh miracle, it opens up! Not at all like the usual, but it draws you in. Sweet leather, with a slight animalic hint, frankincense, and sour wood. I think it should only be worn for special occasions; it would be too pompous for everyday life 😒

Oh, Interlude is just a discovery! Especially the men's version. So spicy, resinous, with an interesting bitterness and sweetness. The fragrance just blows your mind! Most of all, I love how it unfolds in the heart and base - only rich oriental notes remain there. At this stage, it resembles roasted pine nuts soaked in resin. One spray is the perfect dose, two - and everything around starts to die, three - and the end of the world comes! A sample vial of this fragrance lasted almost a month, one hundredth will last an eternity

What a damn scent, to be honest. This isn't for those who like light and delicate things. It's so powerful and heavy it can be intimidating. If you're used to something simple, you'd better stay away. There's something deep and complex in it that you don't grasp right away. But, damn, when it starts to unfold, it no longer leaves you indifferent. There's something of Interlude and Ambre Sultan in it, as if they could keep company, but in this pair Amouage will clearly be in the foreground
