Fragrance information:

The eau de parfum The New Noir by Swedish fast-fashion giant H&M was released in 2015. It is a women’s fragrance from the Oriental family, with moderate sillage.

For anyone looking for an affordable yet sophisticated oriental fragrance, The New Noir is a real find.

History and Concept

When it comes to H&M fragrances, many people often picture simple, affordable scents displayed in the cosmetics section.

However, the fragrance story of this Swedish retailer is a fascinating example of how a fashion brand can create truly successful olfactory hits.

The New Noir was released as a limited edition evening counterpart to the daytime Mandarin Gold.

Its name and minimalist black bottle hint at mystery and elegance—an ideal accompaniment for striking evening occasions.

Character and Mood

The New Noir is dark, refined, and sophisticated. Created for unforgettable evenings, it lends its wearer an air of mystery, charm, and distinctive femininity.

A lush, luxurious rose accord intertwines with rich oud, while warm, creamy sandalwood adds sensuality.

This is an enigmatic fragrance that will perfectly complement an evening dress and leave an intriguing trail.

Similar Fragrances

If you love The New Noir, consider Tom Ford Oud Fleur—a more expensive and complex interpretation of oud and rose—as well as Montale Aoud Red Flowers and Montale Aoud Shiny, in which oud and rose unfold in different nuances.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The rose and sandalwood scent is quite intense, but honestly, it's a bit heavy. Its longevity is average, and the scent seems monotonous and doesn't unfold as one would wish. It lacks some interesting nuances!!

What an oriental masterpiece this is! It just shines with brightness and power. The rose here is so rich, like lipstick, sweet and with woody notes that add astringency. The fragrance is truly impressive and dense, it fills the space around
