Description of the composition

Fragrance pyramid of Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot begins with a bright and refreshing note of bergamot, which belongs to the citrus family and sets an energetic start.

In the heart of the composition, a warm and steady cedar unfolds, adding woody depth and softening the initial freshness.

The base of the fragrance is built on a rich and exotic oud, which is a key note in woody families, creating a long-lasting and captivating final impression.

This combination of notes — bergamot, cedar and oud — forms a harmonious ensemble that dynamically unfolds on the skin, transitioning from citrus lightness to deep woody warmth.

Such a composition is perfect for those who appreciate complex and multifaceted perfumes, capable of telling their story with each new layer.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

With bergamot, this perfume becomes somewhat metallic, too masculine, and even sharp. Overall, the fragrance is decent and long-lasting, but that's rare for me with this brand. But on me, it just doesn't smell right, more for men, and my husband doesn't like it either

The oud here is quite concise, and the bergamot adds a sparkling note, which is a pleasant surprise. My husband doesn't mind using it either, and I wear it with pleasure. The longevity, by the way, is pretty good. The fragrance is refreshing and generally well-balanced!! But I can't quite say if I like it or not

The fragrance isn't too intrusive, it's restrained, in the spirit of European trends. This is truly a masculine perfume, with a slight hint of Earl Grey tea. The woody-citrus composition is perfect for everyday wear, especially with a sharp suit. A real pleasure! )

My sister always praised this fragrance, so I decided to buy it. But, unfortunately, it didn't develop on me at all. The scent turned out to be too masculine, as if I was wearing something that wasn't mine. Oud clearly dominates, it's dry and sharp, and bergamot is almost imperceptible. A long development, and in the end, only this intrusive oud remains, and then something incomprehensible and molecular. I tried it many times, but it's too masculine for me. In the end, I sold it to a friend, and on her, it developed completely differently: the oud doesn't stand out as much, and the molecular notes and citruses sound beautiful, giving the fragrance a certain strictness, but in moderation. It smells very beautiful on her. But with me, the fragrance didn't want to be friends - and it doesn't matter anyway 😅

The fragrance from Jo Malone's black line is quite rich, with smoky and sweetish notes. It reminds me of Vetiver & Golden Vanille, but that one smells lighter and sweeter. Overall, the impression of this perfume leaves a mixed feeling: on the one hand, it's attractive, but on the other, it might seem too heavy for everyday use

The fragrance is quite sharp, with bright citrus and woody notes; in my opinion, it's more suitable for men. Bergamot is felt first, followed by a sweetish woody base. Very unusual and natural. The longevity and sillage are excellent, especially compared to other Jo Malone perfumes. I removed a star because it's not unisex 😅

I hear what sounds like woody oud, but not an oriental one, rather a delicate, European kind. It smells quite beautiful and masculine, although no citrus notes are felt. In winter, when it's frosty, the oud loses its richness and becomes somewhat glassy, even metallic, reminiscent of something "for shaving" It usually lasts quite well, but the sillage is practically non-existent - very close to the skin! By the way, I have a 2021 reformulation, and the hexagon is no longer there

In winter outdoors, this fragrance reminds me of cold metal, as sharp as a razor blade. It clearly leans towards men's eau de toilettes, like Shaik 77 or Platinum Egoïste. There's not a drop of femininity in it, the scent is very masculine. When it's warm, this metallic accent becomes a bit softer, but still remains within the bounds of masculinity. I don't understand how women can choose such a perfume... what's going on in your heads? 😅 And another downside - the longevity is just terrible! You can spray it all day, and there's no effect. For niche perfumery, this is simply unacceptable

The oud here turned out to be quite soft, without any harsh edges. The fragrance has a velvety bitterness, complemented by bergamot and sweet resinous notes. If you take, for example, Oud Immortel, the difference is simply colossal: that one is more contrasting and bright, while this one is gentle and pleasant. Personally, I prefer the first option, so I decided to sell this bottle. I knew I wouldn't choose it, and it would just gather dust on the shelf. But, I admit, the fragrance is really not bad

What a stunning fragrance! The citrus-woody notes are simply captivating. Bergamot adds a slight coolness that perfectly accentuates the woody accords. This perfume is excellent for work; it's not distracting and smells very delicate. The longevity, of course, isn't ideal - 4 out of 10, but for an cologne, that's perfectly normal. The sillage isn't too strong either - 3 out of 10. And most importantly, it's versatile and suits everyone! 🌟

This oud is simply amazing! It combines a light smokiness with fresh citrus notes, making it very harmonious. I recommend it to those who are just starting to discover the world of oud fragrances. Plus, it's an cologne, so the concentration won't be too strong 😍

The fragrance starts with bright citrus notes, and the oud here isn't heavy at all. It's not that dense Arabic oud that can be suffocating. The perfume is light, woody, and has an interesting scent, although it's not super long-lasting. But there's something cozy and appealing about it, especially with its earthy and chocolate nuances. It pairs perfectly with the white line, for example, with Honeysuckle Davana 🌟

What an amazing scent! The forest darkness is simply mesmerizing. In combination with Myrrh & Tonka from Malon, it unfolds in a special way. If not combined, it will quickly disappear, and you won't remember what it was. Overall, it's a typical Malon, but it can be used as an inspiring note to create something new 🌲

The scent indeed reminds me of wood and bergamot, as indicated in the name. But, honestly, it's more suitable for men. The fragrance is bright, long-lasting, but, alas, it doesn't evoke any special emotions 😔

There's definitely something to it, but it's not always pleasant. I don't understand why I keep going back to it. It's too intrusive, constantly drawing attention to itself. It feels like it's just screaming about itself. Its brightness doesn't bring joy, but rather irritation. Freshness? Yes, but such a sharp one that it makes my head spin 😒
