Description of the composition

The pyramid of Ombre Leather 16 is built on six key notes: cardamom sets a spicy start, jasmine adds floral softness in the heart, and the leather accord dominates as the central element.

In the base, oakmoss and patchouli create a deep, earthy foundation, while violet leaf weaves in green nuances.

This blend belongs to the green, leather, and spicy groups, forming a complex, velvety bouquet that evolves from spicy brightness to warm, cozy completion, perfectly balancing between strength and sophistication.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

I have a 50 ml bottle, and I've had it since August 2016. Honestly, I'm so glad I chose this one as my first fragrance, rather than Tuscan Leather. This perfume is softer than that one, and here you feel more earthiness and spices. Although there's no raspberry in the notes, I still sense its sweetness-it just seems to peek through. The longevity is simply super! It unfolds differently in various seasons, but summer isn't its time. I'm cherishing it, because my darling has been discontinued. This is truly a cool and modern fragrance!

The leather feels pleasant, not too rough, with powdery floral notes and light spices. The patchouli here is soft and harmonious. Overall, the fragrance is truly impressive, with excellent longevity and sillage 🌸

Leather is leather, even if it's from Ford. But the scent itself, it's really interesting. Beautiful, with a slight tartness and powdery notes. Longevity is excellent, it's pleasant to wear, but I can't figure out if I like it or not. It's strange somehow, but at the same time alluring

Leather just bursts to the forefront, while oakmoss with tart greenery and patchouli with cardamom are somewhere in the background, trying to break through. The fragrance, of course, isn't simple, but rather overloaded, and its longevity is excellent!! But this persistence... sometimes it's just unbearable!

I can't say for sure if it's 16 or not, but the sample just says Ombre Leather, which translates to "smell of leather." The scent is indeed leathery, and I have no complaints about it! But here's the question: where to wear it? Why would anyone want to smell like leather? Maybe spray it on a faux leather jacket so everyone thinks it's real? I'm not going to buy a full size, although it smells interesting on a silk scarf. Maybe just for jokes with friends and colleagues. But, honestly, it's a shame to spend money on this )

In 2016, Ombré Leather was released in the Private Blend line, and it was immediately compared to Tuscan Leather, one of the brand's most famous fragrances. Tom Ford's leather accord always stands out: it smells expensive and perfumey. But unlike "Tuscan Leather," which evokes plastic raspberry jam with burnt saffron, Ombré Leather offers a completely different experience. It can be called a leather chypre, significantly reinterpreting mid-20th-century classics.

The composition also features a fruity-berry nuance, but it's much more abstract and subtle, having nothing in common with raspberry. Saffron is less prominent here, and the woody accord with oakmoss and smoky vetiver sounds brighter. The construction of the leather accord has become more complex and elegant - the addition of violet leaf and a touch of iris gives it new facets and volume, softening and enriching it with humid air.

Violet leaf helps to reveal the green aspects of vetiver and isobutylquinoline, creating the necessary contrast for the sillage, which is also supported by an abstract floral accord based on hedione - with the scent of an "conditional" jasmine. The fragrance gets its "luxury" thanks to a musky-floral note present in many of the brand's releases, making them recognizable.

Overall, Ombré Leather 2016 turned out to be darker, more complex, and smokier, yet elegant and less oriental than Tuscan Leather. It has more artistic thought and naturalness, but this is only in comparison to "Tuscan Leather." In the flanker line, it appears as the roughest and most unrefined

This fragrance definitely has masculinity, but its tartness and spicy notes with moss create a special atmosphere. It smells expensive and elegant, and that's why I appreciate Ford so much 🔥
