White Moss & Snowdrop: a winter fairy tale by Jo Malone

Imagine a cold winter day when the first snowdrop breaks through the snow, and white moss covers the ground...

This is the inspiration for Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop, released in 2018.

This unisex fragrance from the legendary brand Jo Malone transports us to the world of refined English aesthetics, where nature and art merge in harmony.

Fragrance evolution: from start to base

White Moss & Snowdrop goes through several stages of development, starting with fresh citrus accents, transitioning to a floral heart, and ending with a warm woody-amber base.

This creates a layered experience that changes over time, reflecting the transition from winter to spring.

A versatile fragrance for any season

As a cologne, White Moss & Snowdrop offers a light concentration, perfect for daily use.

Its unisex character makes it suitable for both women and men who appreciate refined chypre and floral notes.

The fragrance wears well on the skin, creating a moderate sillage that isn't overwhelming throughout the day.

Jo Malone's creativity: from personality to perfumery art

Behind the creation of this fragrance is Jo Malone, the founder of the brand, whose philosophy of simplicity and elegance is reflected in every note.

White Moss & Snowdrop demonstrates how Jo Malone London continues to innovate in perfumery, combining traditional English motifs with modern interpretations.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Snowdrop in the pyramid, I've never seen that before. As if something lost, slipped from memory

A fragrance that, it would seem, should have brought joy, actually leaves a bitter aftertaste. Spring, yes, but the moss and neroli sound too intrusive, and the citrus notes only emphasize this heaviness. Snowdrop? I can't say how it smells, but here there's something ghostly, as if something is slipping away, leaving no trace )

I can't say I specifically smell a snowdrop in this fragrance. In any case, there are flowers, moss, and a bit of citrus notes here. It sounds quite original and unobtrusive. It evokes associations with nature waking up after winter hibernation

Too much moss and citrus. The scent is not bad, of course, it's not oppressive, there's a sillage, but it's not impressive. It reminds me of a spring forest in England, but something is missing from it. As if something is lost. )))

The scent is simply amazing, and the bottle is a whole other story! As soon as you inhale, you immediately feel winter leaving and spring approaching. The moss and snowdrop here sound simply gorgeous. A little bit of citrus and suede add interest. It feels very feminine and light. It's truly like a veil on you. It lasts a long time on clothes, almost a couple of days 🌸
